SAME Café is designed to be replicable. The success of the second SAME location, SAME Café Toledo, proves that a SAME Café can operate in other states and cities besides Denver. With care, commitment, and invested community members, SAME Cafés could one day exist across the entire country.

You may be viewing this course with the aspirations of opening a SAME Café in Your Town. In this section of the course, you can explore more about how to assess if your town would be a good fit. To get started, we've created a roadmap which includes all the milestones you'll need to open a SAME Café.

There are four main milestones to reach SAME Café Your Town:

1. Identify a host site, ideally a library or community center
   1. Host a community conversation at the host site
   2. Create a steering committee of 3-5 people
   3. Create a proposal to submit to the SAME National Board
2. Gain SAME National Board approval for SAME Café site (with a 12-24 month runway)
   1. Recruit and onboard a robust Local Board of Advisors
   2. Establish salary ranges for local community using SAME's assessment process
3. Hire an Executive Director
   1. Build partnerships in the local community
   2. Fundraise with SAME National matching funds
   3. Hire Managers and staff
4. Have a Grand Opening for SAME Café Your Town!
